Has anybody swapped a 120 for a 180 & was it worth it?
As above, is there much difference? Im getting tempted!

much more torque, much more power.. |
more of everything really... including petrol!
I went from a 1.4 ZR to my ZS and it was the best move I ever made. The 180 had more toys, felt more substantial and had ooodles of power on tap |
i went from a rover 416, only 9bhp less than the 120 as standard, but it was on a throttle body and induction kit so wouldnt even be that difference. the difference between that and a 180 was amazing. not just acceleration in a straight line but over taking as well, and the way my 180 goes from 70 to 90 in 5th on the motorway is truely superb

i had a mk1 120 and moved up to a mk2 180 only thing i miss is the mk1 was trophy blue well worth it in my opinion.

my brother has got a 120 and he's green with envy every time he gets out of mine....

now im different i prefered my mk1 120 dunno why i think its because it felt better built
but power wise i wouldnt be able to go back to the 120 just because of that, its like having a rocket inserted up your ass and that v6 noise is immense too you wouldnt regret making the move |
i had a mk 1 120 then a mk2 120 then a mk2 180 loved the 180 best such a smile when you put the boot in the firefrost 120 looked great though

I went from a mk1 120 to a mk2 180. Having purchased the 120 I cursed myself for not getting the 180 in the first place. 3 years down the line I upgraded to the mk2 180. I'm now glad I didn't buy the 180 in the first place otherwise I wouldn't be now driving a mk2 180 as I feel it is a better looking car than the mk1.
Generally it is definitely more fun in the 180. The first time I heard the KV6 fired up and generally driving it was so much different to the K4. The running cost notably the fuel is more as expected and the tyre wear is much quicker. Till this day I'm glad I have upgraded to the 180. |
