Got the car in this condition, swirl marks a plenty and well, a pretty grubby interior...

Not good, so off I went
Wetted first with warm water and then degreased with diluted G101. Washed with Zymol Auto Wash Shampoo

http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...0/ZS180_19.jpg
Degreased the B post around the hinges and brushed out all of the dirt and grime.

Once dry, I started on the machine polish, I'd been told to give Menzerna polishing compound a try and I have to say, I'm totally sold on it, it is my new favourite product as its so easy to use! Oil based so no need to keep wetting the pad and panel which means that it doesn't go everywhere either so no need to spend hours taping off panel gaps etc! Save so much time and its a hell of a lot easier to use!

I had to put up my valeting gazebo, with the car been black it basically turned into a hotplate with the sun shining on it. I didn't want products baking to the paint so the car went into the shade.

A 50/50 on the bonnet, N/S of the bonnet (right side of the pic) is the polished side.

Doing the boot lid under the spoiler was a difficult task but when I took the handle off the polisher it fit between the lid and spoiler...just lol

Once the bodywork had been polished, Zymol Cleaner Wax and then Harly's Carnauba wax were used to seal in the fresh paintwork. I've used Harly's on my own car for a while now, still on my first tub of it! It gives a great covering and I've found it one of the best for providing long last protection and a good shine.

Remember the interior? This one...

Henry got to work on the carpet, sucking up everything and using Henry and a Meguiar's Sidelock brush, clearing all the little gaps in trim, around switches and the airvents. The Seats were brushed with an Upholstery brushed and the all leather was treated with Zymol Leather Cleaner/Conditioner. The Dashboard and trim was wiped down with Smartwax SmartDressing, very good product, smells great and is non shiney, perfect for dashboards as it reduces the reflection on to the windscreen. All the glass was cleaned with Meguiar's Glass Cleaner.

Finally, the car's shine was touched up with Smartwax Smart Detail and all of the black trim was wiped over with Poorboys Natural Shine, another very good, easy to use product.

Got to admit, I LOVE the sound the KV6 makes and ZS is a very nice drive indeed. Gonna look into getting a MK1 ZS180 for a track car :D

Nice work!;)
Iv been doing mine which i think is the same colour as yours. Pretty hard work as blacks not the easiest colour to work with!

Thanks for the comments guys, I managed to get John's car done in a day thanks to a new polishing compound I'm now using.

If anyone wants a quote for it doing drop me a PM and I'll get back to you :)

Looks rather nice I must agree! But I would say that as I think Pearl Black is the best colour! :)

On a side note, where did you get your steering wheel from? It's not a standard ZS wheel, well it's not the same as mine anyway! :(
