A bit about the Traffic Master Clock
Quote:
MG Rover drivers get out of a jam with clock alert

Trafficmaster Plc, a leading quality traffic information provider for the worldwide market, announces an agreement with MG Rover Group to provide its customers with the Trafficmaster Traffic Alert. The Traffic Alert provides drivers with traffic congestion warnings on roads within a 20-mile radius of the vehicle. This will help MG or Rover's customers to avoid traffic jams, which according to the Office of National Statistics is the most serious problem faced by today's drivers.

Trafficmaster Traffic Alert, provided as a standard fit to all 2003 built Rover 25 and Rover 45 Rover models, will be fitted into the car's dashboard and will display the time, as well as traffic warnings. The driver is first alerted to congestion problems when the device beeps. Clock Alert then displays the distance, the direction and the number of the road where congestion has been identified.

Traffic data is taken from Trafficmaster's 7,500 sensors that monitor traffic flows across 8,000 miles of the UK's road network. When the speed of traffic falls below 30 mph on motorways or between 20mph and 10mph on various trunk roads, the Traffic Alert device is sent information to warn the driver of congestion ahead.

The Clock Alert device will be launched by MG Rover Group at The British International Motor Show on the 22nd October. John Sanders, Director Sales and Marketing MG Rover Group, comments: "MG Rover Group is providing its customers with an enhanced driving experience with the integration of Trafficmaster's Traffic Alert system to ensure drivers arrive at their destination and avoid unnecessary congestion."
