My mums car hasn't even done 26k miles and it's had the head gasket done.. Never overheated, always service according to service schedule (on times, not mileage as it's done hardly any!).. Driven very conservatively by my 47 year old mother, so not ragged!
I personally would never buy a K-series MG/Rover

What years the 25? the later engines seam to be less prone. My mrs's 54 plate 1.4 ZR has done 130k on the factory gasket
