Always make sure that the metal will be strong enough to take the weight without bending or slipping off the stands.
Get the stands as near to the metal as poss. dont have a big gap between the top of the stands and where you want to locate on the car, thats assuming you are using a jack as well, without lowering it down just on stands.
Could always get car ramps and block the wheels.
