If I were you -

Get a dent guy to sort the bodywork.
Do the belts - everyone's skint - and that will include mechanics. Ring round - there are guys on here or on the other forums who will do it. I reckon you could get them done for ?400.
Then a good advert claiming rightly that the car is in very good condition with belts done. Re-advertise for ?1650 and take ?1500.
There are some buyers out there who don't want a car that needs tidying and they will pay a bit more for a car that is good to go. You need to be more specific in the wording of your advert too IMHO. When you say - no modifications as far as I'm aware - it implies that there could be and that you're either hiding the fact or don't know anything about your car - and that may put buyers off.

Be specific - No modifications.

"Like this when I got it" - implies that the previous driver may have been poor and "Not had a chance to sort it" really is just not true. We all have time it's just whether we prioritise our cars with that time that is relevant.

"Minor marks commensurate with age and mileage" covers these issues and if you add something like - "ring for full details or email for detailed photos" - it sounds better.

If you ain't got the cash to do the work - Get it on PH for ?999.

If it's running costs and you keep your car for a while - look at pxing against something like a new Fiesta or Corsa. I reckon you'd get ?2K in px against something new, small and cheap as many dealers offer things like a minimum px valuation.

Real shame pal, because it's a great looking car.
