Official Rover garage in Serbia offers brand new 1.4 engines, assuming they are original leftovers, would it be possible that there are other engines sitting somewhere? Prices here are ridiculous though, 2k euros including mounting...
1,4 ZS is still a good car, power isn't all that matters... Most mid class cars of today are not so powerful either, most of the modern 2.0 dervs, even though 160ish hp, rarely get to 60 in under 10 secs, so no faster than std ZS derv... They're mostly 1,6-1,9 tonnes fat arses, so they don't handle so well either. I guess today it's all about design and comfort, performance cars on the other hand are so expensive...
