It is suprisingly easy to remove and fix, then refit an engine. I did a series one RS Turbo as my first car, but with two guys that knew their stuff which helped at the time. If you have the gear to do it, and are handy with a spanner it can a lot easier than you think. Just make a note of where the ancilleries go, take pics of complicated bits, and take your time and you'll be fine!
