- battery terminal connections loose or corroded
- battery discharged or faulty
- broken loose or disconnected wiring in the starting circuit
- defective starter solenoid or switch
- defective starter motor
- starter pinion or flywheel ring gear teeth loose or broken
- engine earth strap broken or disconnected
