i doubt its from overtightening, I tighten mine with a 3ft long bar, and have to go really tight as they get so hot on track that they can become loose if tightened the way most do for road.
It is not unusual to come in after 20mins and find they are not half as tight as before because of the heat.
They are likely high tensile bolts.
Have you ever had non hubcentric wheel spacers on as they can cause a lot of fatigue?
