To think the many months my zed has been sorned over the last 10 years with no use and I always pop the fuel pump relay and crank until the oil light goes out. I have always done this to all my cars when not in use, even the race cars when freshly built. I've only lost one engine through conrod venting and that was due to the engine being too new and tight and it didn't like new shells. That's another story.
