Can I buy a GS for the same money? probably - a 1.5T GS with cloth trim etc. Yes the same money without any haggling. But remember if it was for me, no worries id want something that goes a bit faster, but it isn't, and things like a big sunroof, convenient size etc. become more important. I still think the back half of the GS is an abomination... The ZS at least is in proportion, build quality is miles better than the GS and it has similarities to smaller CX5 Mazda
