Nothing wrong with an auto. I had to change the last car for an auto due to the commute and frequent traffic jams, the on/off clutch pedal didn't do my legs any good.
Hard to help on cars as there are so many in that budget range. Cars I would consider are ex-Police cars, well looked after and white
