No brainer, stainless as it will last if a quality part. The only benefits mild steel have are lower costs and a deeper sound as the gauge will be slightly thicker and tends to coke up quicker. Whereas stainless is a thinner gauge and will resonate and take longer to coke up.

Fit and forget I say.
