There seem be huge numbers of MGs registered at Longbridge. It was a fiddle operated by MG Rover (and all other mass manufacturers) to artificially boost their sales figures. They registered the cars, ran them for around 1,000 miles and then sold them on as pre-registered cars at a discounted price.

I currently own 3 cars that were registered by MGR. Two have BX plates and the other one BJ. My Mk1 ZS was also a BX.
