sounds like a cool little project buddy! just up my street too :-) I considered this but got lazy, gave up and bought a fold out touch screen jobby.
shafz is obv the man to talk to, but if u need any localish hands on help or advice I'll lend a hand :-) 2 minds r better than one! may need custom brackets etc etc which I can also help with :-)
