Need to pick someones brains about reluctor rings

Right Just got me car sorted down me x mg dealership and they did a vhc after they did the work and said i also need me front pads doing which i suspected. But the bit that has confused me is they said both outer cv joints abs reluctor rings split (I suspected the rings cuz ive had the judder a few times). Is this just improper wording to fool me into buying the complete joint with the reluctor rings? Because some places say u cant buy em seperate?

I have had both sides changed and the parts can be bought separately. You don't have to buy a new CV, they need a gentle amount of heat applied to allow them to slip into place and that's it, happy breaking again. You can get these from Nigel Thompson Transmissions in Leeds tel 0113 289 0819 and ask for Paul Stead. Hope this helps.
