Need technical advise this time
I am looking for a car to use to learn in and came across this
http://glasgow.gumtree.com/glasgow/38/66007038.html
Say noisy tappets or cam
Could this be fatal cause only looking to run for 6 month the get the zs 110
Any advise on the matter

would really need to hear it, some K4's can be noisey tappet sound wise. May just need a decent oil change or maybe oil has been run low. At that price worth a good look around and a thorough check over

Why not just buy your 110 the now and take your lessons and test in your own car ?
Will save you money in the long run from not having to buy a banger.

You could do, get someone to check it out, could be something minor. Or wait and save the money for the ZS.

I. Don't want to get a 110 just to ruin the car and also means that I can wait for a good one to come along but really just if I get 3 months out of the car it will be good then when I see a good zed I can just go get it and know I won't. Write it of on the first day

That's a good start to driving, having no faith in your own abilities!
I've never, in 27 years of driving, had a fault accident. I'm no saint but then again we cannot be alert 100% all of the time as there is always some numpty out there intent on spoiling our driving pleasure!
If, for your own benefit, you feel you would be better cutting your teeth in a shed, then go for it. Once you have the confidence then do as you suggest. I do understand, two of my three daughters have had a shed for a first car, one has an MGF now, the other a Scirocco GT classic one. Their first car luckily was a shed as they both mullered them in the first couple of weeks. I spent many a weekend beating the dents out!

Well the reason behind it as u said about all of the other numptys on ten road + the fact of inexperience might result in a crash I don't want to sound cocky but the fact is I probably won't be in a crash but. Would rather be safe nhan sorry then having to make a claim on insurance
