Belts done, make sure it pulls through all the gears, turbo kicks in around 1500 rpm. Check the brakes, my rear ones rusted up and ended getting new disks and pads. Battery takes a bit of a hammering.

Exhaust may be rusty, unless its s/s replacement one.

Then its just checking all the switches.

My clutch is a bit heavy, so make sure you drive it to make sure you can live with a derv.

Hope its a good one.

Good cars and will look good with the kit. As for the price, Parkers suggest a dealer price of ?2200.

yeah belts should have been done 2 years ago, and they are due im another 2 if done on schedule.

if it is sluggish post 2000 rpm Maf is dead... so tell them to replace it as it is a dealer.

the intercooler pipes are prone to perish so give them a squeeze, if you hand comes up a bit grubby ask them to replace them...or knock a bit off.. they are ?40+vat per pipe and there are two...

?3500 is very optimistic, you could get a mint mk2 180 for that sort of money!

Assuming it is mint and all the above points are ok, ?2500 maximum

Well the dervs hold their value a lot better than the petrols, probably due to lower running costs and being that much rarer....

however as above dont spend more than 3k tops on a mint example from a stealer (with good warrenty etc thrown in as a result etc etc)... perferably 2500 is the region you ought to be paying...
