Help Needed!!!

Guys,

Changed my throttle body over today as got a new (2nd hand) one. All went well until I started the car. Revs are going mental now. When I put the Idle Control Valve back on I had the vacuum pipe connected and the power lead and turned the ignition on to reset the plunger but it hasn't made any difference. Am I doing something wrong here?? Also when I take my foot off the gas doing 50 my speed isn't dropping very fast at all! Almost like bloody cruise control.
Have I forgotten to do something??

There are no fault codes present either. New TPS as the last one came up as a fault code. I have got to drive to work later and I am a very concerned.

Please help me people

Throttle Position Sensor Re-set
Try to reset throttle position.
If the throttle body has been recently replaced, or you find that the idle speed is a little on the high side, it may be worth attempting to reset the throttle position sensor (TPS). This is readily achieved by following the following procedure:
Start engine and warm engine to its normal operating temperature (essential, as when cold, the engine requires some extra air/fuel - which on the MGF is managed by the idle air control valve: best not confuse the issue!)
Now turn off the ignition.
Switch on the ignition to position II without starting the engine (all the pre-start warning lights ought to be illuminated)
Depress the throttle pedal to the carpet and fully release inside a period of 30 seconds or so.
Wait for about 15 seconds...
Switch off the ignition

Thanks Pete, yeah I have seen this thread before and I did that, although I did it with the vacuum pipe still connected. Which is what I did about 3 months ago because when I tried it with just the electrical connector on there it nowt happened yet when I also had the vacuum pipe on there it worked, I will try again tho just to make sure. Thanks for the post buddy!!

I noticed on the drive in tonight that the accelerator pedal has about an inch or so play in it until anything happens. Wasn't like this before. Also the spring on the TB attached to the accelerator cable doesn't seem to have a lot of resistance/springyness, I don't know if these two things are related? Cable is defo in right, can only go in one way as there is a cut out where it needs to go.

Yeah I think it is matey, my stepdad was under the hood whilst I turned the ignition on to 'reset' the plunger and he said that it hardly moved. I will try it again tonight with just the electrical connector on without the vacuum pipe connected.
