There are a couple of bulbs in the cluster but it's mostly led's that do the job. The ones that are bulbs aren't 501's am afraid, cannot remember off top of my head what size they are but they are like the usual daft things that light up dashboards and instrument clusters

There is 2 type 504 bulbs but they are a really low wattage like 2Watts, all the rest are T5 12 volt 1.2 watt Wedge Base Capless bulbs with some SMD LEDS throuwn in for good measure.

One of the bulbs in my Mk1 went and half of the speedo wouldnt light up, i just used a normal sidelight bulb and it worked fine, never had a problem.

the are the same size as the 501 5 watt sidelight bulb but they are lower wattage, so you run the risk of burning your circuit board on your cluster
