the kv6 in zs's etc is a very good engine.

the original rover kv6 found in rover 800's was not so good!! they share many common parts mind you

Thats good to know,

I do worry with MG/Rover engines

I have a 160 MGF which had HGF & my Aunties ZS180 Mk1 is looking like it may well be going down the HGF Line aswell.

Another quick question.

How comes My dads got a 2003 ZTT & its all BMW but the 2004 ZS i got is all rover? did bmw just pick 1 car to really work on and ignore the rest?

When the Rover Group were under control of BMW, they set about getting a new model to launch the new company and they came up with the Rover 75, they raided theyre parts bins from the range 3, 5 and 7 Series), they also used the very good derv engine, they mated all the bits into a BMW/Rover designed shell, that is why the Rover 75 is a very good car.
Full story here

The ZS has bits of BMW in it too, the Wiring loom is full of BMW connectors, but mostly you will find Honda as the main supplier of bits.
