My Car Stinks
TBF i never noticed this on my 1.8 K4 but in stationary traffic, but my 1.6 hums of stale water checked everything over Defo No HG whatsobob
I dunno if this is a normal thing for the 1.6's

have you used screen wash or just water ? as that will stink if just water and its stale.

Screen wash bud robbed a load from work
it just smells like warm stale water

matrix is behind the dash on most cars.
Normal to find damp carpets if the matrix goes. Aslong as its had plenty antifreeze in the coolant I would doubt its the matrix in a mk2.
Look for blocked drains down from the roof and boot.
