My 180 - Stolen :(

Stayed at my parents last night for the first time in 2 months, first time with the MG.

My chav brother came home about 2 in the morning him and his mates decided they liked my car and snuck in my room and took the keys.

He's wrote it off.

I've had the car 3 weeks.

Gutted is not the word

That is not a good thing to hear, especially from your brother!

Is he still breathing?

So where does that leave you with regards insurance?

Yes...for the minute.

Well nobody else was involved, and with my Dad owning a vehicle salvage firm he went out and got it this morning, took it straight round to the local indy we use, who has pulled the front end off it and says it is repairable, but it's going to cost more than I paid for it £2.5k to sort it out.

So the insurance don't know, as far as they know it's still sitting on my driveway in perfect form.

I'm undecided on what to do, problem is my brother is 17, he simply does not have 2.5k - and my parents being the way they are, ultimately I'll end up paying for the damn thing.

Going to go see Dad & Brother tonight to sort it out I'm stuck at work and feel quite sick that something I was so proud of owning has been taken by my own flesh and blood.

Thats awful, to have your own brother do that to you, I hope he feels incredibly guilty, If my brother did that to me I would report him for theft without a second thought

Not you too...

My cousin did a similar thing with my little brothers ZR last weekend! He didn't write it off though - thankfully. I was pi$$ed and it's no longer my car to worry about.

Just had another phone call, the chassis is damaged at the front, both rads need replacing, the drive shaft has been broken, one of the ball links for the passenger front wheel...

The list goes on.

I feel sick

Hindsight being the wonderful thing it is, you should have reported it stolen and got a payout as that is a write-off. At present I think you are screwed unless there is a way around it, but I very much doubt it.

The little scrote will be paying for a very long time.

This is harsh, I know I'm not adding anything constructive but, what a horrible position to be in. The only way out of this for you appears to be to put bro in the spotlight - what a position to be forced into.

J, OMG! I feel almost as angry as you! Absolutely gutting mate!

I hope you give your brother what-for.
