Track car

Im after a cheapish track car thats going to be reliable, fun and british.
My options so far-

Turbo or VVC the 120
Get a stripped 180
Metro VVC
Mini Cooper

Its only talk at the minute and until funds allow.
Any suggestions?

Get a MGF 1.8 VVC, with HGF, repair the gasket and you have a cheap car!!!!

Ready for the track.

Thats a great idea Pete Always fancied one aswell.
However, just browsing the for sale section and Dan has posted a link to a ZS track car...just need to find out what mods it has.

ZS180 ftw. Get a cheap one and strip it out, sell the parts and would be easier to maintain than an F as everything is under the cover and behind the seats. I would say an F would be a mare in the wet unless it was well sorted and with track rubber. They can be very twitchy if running crap rubber. Saying that I still wouldn't mind a VVC version to play around with.

car13 is on a distinguished road
What about Metro GTI - 135 looks stock but a lotus eating machine.

Split suspension and running gear from Drayton Manor race car

Comes with a orginal 6r4 bucket seat.

Its my boses toy as he is having a clear out as he races a 1.4 Zr in metro cup, Rover BRM in PBIC and ZR160 in trophy/PBIC

Very good condition tax and ticket circa 1200 from memory.

Metro GTI are well over looked and giant killing machines, after all rover spun them round and called it a MGF
