Historic car.

Had one for a week once, went like stink. But the ride was awful, so stiff nearly took it back after 1/2 hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad we stuck with it.

Strong money, assuming it is genuine and has history.

It just doesn't seem that much to me for a 4.6 litre engine. I would have hoped for 120BHP more than that.

10 grand for a rover 75 with a load of yank old pig iron thrown up front, some dodgy wheels and aftermarket exhausts in a less than desirable colour.

Whilst I have never driven the 75 v8, I drove a couple of cars in the states with the very same engine, and in one word - pants.

how can they get such a small amount of hp out of something so big?

Only a grand or two more and you could have an e63 m5 v10.

Now, I know where my money would be...

I beg to differ, this engine is rather big, therefore powerful. Each to their own but to me there's something unique about American v8's. And you can always supercharge them if you ever need more horses.

They simply have a v8 for any car, truck, suv... they keep it simple. And they put a lot of gas in it.

I have an Autocar and Motor report on a ZT 260 from when it first came out. It was a group test where it was up against quality cars of the age. BMW 330 coupe, A3 3.2, Monaro, Megane 225, and some others that I don't remember - there were about 8 cars in the test, where they were looking at cars that could seat 4, do the normal family bits and pieces, not look out of place in the executive car park etc but then when the driver wanted some fun, it could deliver.

The 260 came out on top. Report reads that because they managed to source the relatively old Mustang engine, they could spend the rest of the development budget on the drivetrain and handling. It did everything well and so overall came out the best. They had to totally redesign an awful lot and they did very well. The 260 is a very different car to the normal ZT.

I'd love one - and it's on my list. A friend had one a while back and the sound of it was just amazing. the relatively low BHP I think is offset by a huge amount of torque and in gear acceleration.

Sure many people would laugh at a paultry 260 BHP. If I had one though, I'd just be saying - yeah whatever - Mustang V8 and quick enough mate.
