Not really....

The locking tools are quite complex and cost about £300 on their own... However some people have done without apparently (I wouldn't risk it though!)

For all the hassle, it is worth doing the water pump at time of belt change for the sake of an extra 45quid.

Always do the lot when I have the belts done, as G says, £45 against another £450 or whatever the cost is now a days.
