Annoying rattle!
Right, I have an annoying rattle coming from what sounds like the front of the exhaust somewhere but I have had it checked at 2 separate places now and neither can find anything wrong. They did say it could be coming from the new center section that was put on but couldn't be sure. It does it more when cold but it sounds just like a heat shield rattle. I have a dealt as well. Any ideas?

I've got exactly the same, its only been there for a couple of months. I have been meaning to investigate for a while, it does sound like an exhaust shield, quite tinny but goes once warmed up

It's your rear bank collector, the noise is the liner rattling around inside.

It's not the main cat as that's not there. Both garages did inspect around the pre cat area but nothing sounded loose anywhere?

Where exactly is the rear bank collector? Is it in the center section or further forward, and how the hell can I get rid cos it's really getting on my nipple ends now!! If it's the center section it's going straight back for a new one.

Rear bank collector it the manifold off your rear bank, connects to the front bank. The bit with the precat on.

I know where you mean and that is exactly where it sounds like it's coming from. How the hell do I go about sorting that without having to replace the whole thing?

Oh, that's that then! Will just have to put with it up or change it. Depending on the difference in cost I may get the Janspeed mani's if it's not too difficult a job to do.

It was easy for me but then I know someone who tried it recently and ended up dumping half there coolant. ChrisG has got one but he's banned for some reason. Think he only wanted £20' doesn't look pretty but he reckoned it didn't rattle. Could try fitting the r800 one that doesn't have the restrictive precat?
