Thanks for the luck think im going to need it lol.It dont look to much work really going to use the gearbox in the car(not sure what box ive got) so may have to swap the flywheels over for it to run.

Just waiting for some cheap 160 parts to come up then i'll be getting it ready to go in so hopefully soon!

I love mk1's in xpower grey. Looks a good project.

I've always got cheap 160 parts let me know what you need.

I'm considering selling converted looms for this type of conversion as I've seen a couple now that look like a 3 year olds made them!!

No that's wrong advice.

Final drive is 3.9 on the 120 box and 4.2 on the vvc box. Cruising speed revs would be lower. Also speedo will read the exact same as you aren't changing the speedos gear ratio. The plastic gear is the same on both boxes.

Also most economical way of swapping those engines is leaving gearbox and shafts in car.
