Yes but a blank service book won't help with an older car, you will still be missing all the servicing stamps.

mine is on a 06 plate with 23,000 miles so I will have missed one or two services from the book. When I bought the car thye said they serviced it like....just checked all the levels and the oil and they are all full!

I got my mg without a service book, the car was serviced and sold by sg pelch in edinborough, i wrote them a letter asking them for any service history they could provide me with and if poss a service book, i also tlod them i'd pat any costs, lo and behol service records and a new book arrived stamped and everything. might be worth contacting the dealer if still around and asking them for the same?
where abouts in the toon are you mate, i'll keep my (wye)eye out for you.
