All bloody day in the heat i have been out there...

On the plus side i now have a bleed and working clutch (after faffing for ages trying to flare the pipe with cheap kit) (dont waste you money).

But got there in the end.

Bad news is after spending ages trying to sus out the cooling system (the Ti lower metal pipe had to be cut as it fouls the ZS TD intercooler)... i was chuffed with my work and filled it with coolant.... only for it to gently trickle out a pin hole in the rad (its not Chazs fault) comparing pics shows some obvious damage in the area that was not there when he took it off, and i didnt hit it while fitting it, so i can only assume it got battered about a bit in transit.

Gutted, those rads aint cheap, and my fund is now dangerously low, i may have to start pulling the heads of the Kv6 and see if they are any good to sell on.

Im at a point with this thing now where im starting to wish i never bloody bothered.

AK seem to have a lot of old MG Rover stock, I'm sure I've used them before.

Was fed up on Sunday, so i did my front grill and badge, looks loads better back to chrome mesh !

Then, i noticed i had a parcel when i got home today... it was this.

So i put that on and put some coolant in it NO MORE LEAKS

Got it nice and hot, bleed the cooling system, i now have fans that cut in and out, no overheats so im happy now

The throttle body is sticking a little, need to re address that, and my Pas still doesnt work, interestingly the fluid in the bottle is pumping around like mad, but no assistance via the rack :? pretty sure i have plumbed it up ok so i need to have a look at that.

Next up is balljoints, pads and driveshafts, and an air filter of sorts, after that i should be able to move it around

I know the sound is shocking on my phone.. the engine actually sounds spot on ! but i could not resist a quick video.

I have at last replaced both the bottom balljoints, and fitted some drive shafts to the ZS, i found the outer cv joints to be identical to ZS 180 ones, including the abs reluctor rings, so i swapped the outers over anyway on the basis the ZS ones where new.

The one issue i did have is that the inner boot on the passanger side split as i tried to fit the hub... i was not impressed... but i simply fitted an outer boot to the inner shaft, it fitted and retains its grease so it will be fine.

Pic of one driveshaft fitted.

I then filled the gearbox with mtf94, i now have a car the can be moved under its own power at last ! i took this picture after driving it to the end of the drive lol.

So my list is now getting shorter.

I need to swap the Pas pumps, and fit the seats to put the SRS warning lamp on the dash.

The main issue i have now is with the ABS... the light is on, when you put the ignition on it comes on and stays on... now i dont know if all the sensors are ok at the minute, but i was waiting untill i had driveshafts in etc before posting up about it.

So currently it has ZS 180 wheel speed sensors all around, the outer cvs are the same (even by part number) to the 420 ones so i doubt they are the issue.

The other thing (which could be the issue) is that im still using the ZS 180 modulator on the 420 loom ?

If anyone can shed some light on this i would be very greatfull.

Honestly i dont recall... it never ran, so i didnt take much notice of it at the time.

Looking at some sources abs pumps are listed up from 1995/1999 and are then different from 45 ZS onwards, it might be that i need to put a 400 one on it... so long as that's compatible with the ZS sensors, my 600 does the check and the light goes out very quickly.
