They are a little marmite...

Plus i think they will look loads better when i get around to actually cleaning the rest of the car !

Refurbed and primed...

BMW Vermillion Red went on...

Clear coat.

Resulting in..

I did not want a bright red, and these look quite dark, but when the sun hits them the pearl gives of some stunning flecks lol.

Cant wait to get the rest finished and cleaned now so i can get a proper pic.

Not much done...

It's got new front pads now.

Plus my centercaps are painted and have stickers on !

I also cleaned it.

Also, I have fitted an induction kit of sorts (ie duct/pipe/filter from eBay)... Also the 420s fogs are now in place and the bumper screw on.

I have put some underseal about too...

I also went to look at the rust on the inner wing, then started swearing... Lots !

I'm not putting pics up yet, but I was debating throwing the towel in again, it's pretty bad, who would have though for a car this age ? The older ones did not suffer like this.

But some pics sent to the father in law ( legend) and he's going to cut out much of the inner wing on the drivers side and weld some new steel in, in the mean time I need to prep it for the road.

Really wish I had started with a better base now, but that's the chance you take I suppose.

Onwards and upwards it is.

Holiday first, moved the mg and caravan over now, looking forward to the Brecon beacons next week in the caravan, let's hope the zafira will manage...

I agree about the rust, my 1994 R8 420 was 15 years old and had less rust underneath than either of the 2005 ZS.

Enjoy the beacons btw

Aye, the 420 was gone on the outer rear arches, but Jesus I did not expect to whack a hole through my inner wing with a hammer !

Such a shame, they really did cut bloody corners in the end, my ti is 3 years older, has more miles on it, and is in much better nick.

Take a look at the front jacking points as well, they rot for fun.
