The easier question is 'is it a 3 button or a two button fob'

To add to the confusion its a mk1 track car with a engine from a mk2. So i have a old shape fey fob. As the current ecu runs fine i presume any mk1 ecu is ok, or am i right in saying i need a late mk1 ecu thats meant for the mk1s with the new engine set up with the different coil packs in?

Pretty sure if you've got the older 2 button fob you just need the ecu, barrel and lock/key of the same type. Loads about, i've just picked a set up off ebay for £40 for the new project.
