Was a sunroof an optional extra on the facelift ZS Diesel with the 180 kit? Thanks.

Yes.
You could specify an Electric Pack for £690 which included electric sunroof, TrafficMaster Traffic Alert and Ultrasonic Parking sensors or the electric sunroof alone was £555.
Unfortunately the thinking around the time seemed to be "if you've got air-con, why do you need a sunroof too?" so it was an option few bothered to specify.

I copied the following list but can't remember where I found it:
Metallic/pearlescent paint £325
Space saver spare wheel £50
Stepspeed automatic gearbox (on 120 models)* £1150
Front fog lights £185
ATC air conditioning (ilo on/off air conditioning) £250
Body Kit Pack** £895
Electric Pack*** £690
Axis part leather seats £395
Gunsmoke Alcantara seats £660
Gunsmoke Alcantara seats ilo part leather £265
Coloured Alcantara seats £660
Coloured Alcantara seats ilo part leather £265
Sports Black Leather seats £1185
Sports Black Leather seats ilo part leather £790
Kenwood stereo radio cassette NCO
Kenwood Single Slot CD Tuner £175
Kenwood High power CD Tuner with MP3 £280
Kenwood High power CD Tuner with MP3 £100
Kenwood 6 disc CD autochanger £265
Satellite Navigation £995
Trackstar £1200
Black Oak fascia inserts £100
Cigar lighter £10
Folding boot box & convenience hook £55
Electric sunroof £555
Electric rear windows £290
Sculpted side sill finishers £240
Body colour small rear spoiler (ilo lip spoiler) £290
Body colour large rear spoiler (ilo lip spoiler) £350
Rear head restraints £80
16" hairpin alloys ilo 15" (ZS 110 models only) £240
17" straight alloys ilo 16" alloys £290
Traffic Master Traffic Alert System £160
Ultrasonic rear parking distance sensors £265
Delete flag badges NCO
Chromescent paint finish £2250
Chromactive paint finish £2000
Kinetic paint finish £1350
Supertallic paint finish £900
Towbar - twin socket £370
Towbar - single socket £370

* Stepspeed auto gearbox requires additional £15 Vehicle Excise Duty due to movement from tax band C to D
** Bodykit Pack includes: front and rear arch spats, side sill finishers, front bumper vents and 17" 11-spoke alloy wheels
*** Electric pack includes: electric sunroof, TrafficMaster Traffic Alert and Ultrasonic Parking sensors

I've also found the following additional extras on a very nicely spec'd ZS and am keeping my eyes out on "the Bay" and in the scrappies for them:
Electric Heated Mirrors
ABS with EBD
Cruise Control
Headlamp Washers
Xenon Headlights
X-Power Rear Lights
Original MG Mats
X-Power Sill plates

I don't miss a sunroof in the least.

At the time the UK was the only country you could spec a BMW with both aircon and sunroof.

If you've got electric mirrors they should be heated as well although this may have failed on your car. I don't think you could buy a ZS with manual mirrors.

Cruise control and headlight washers can be found on some 45's.

I don't think Xeon headlights were ever available on the ZS, they were on the ZT, Same for ABS with EBD.

What are X-Power rear lights?

Are X-Power sill plates any different to the normal MGZS ones?

Now that we've had some dodgy weather, I think you're right. My driver's side mirror clears, but the other one doesn't.

I've found headlamp washers but I'm not sure that I could cope with the carbuncles on my car's nose. Not to mention the mauling that I'd have to give the bumper to fit them. Now Ritchy's solution looks much more elegant than the standard setup, watching progress with keen interest...

TBH I'm not even sure what EBD is or why it's different to ABS.

No idea, and they aren't actually visible in the above ad. I could be cheeky and contact the bloke and ask him to photograph them I suppose...

I must admit I'm a little surprised that if you hold down the button on the dash to lock the doors you can set off the alarm and lights. My very own panic button.

Don't think the neighbours enjoyed my testing of it at 7am...

Trouble is now all i want to do is lay low, wait for someone to walk past and set it off

How is that different to "common" ABS?
