Don't forget, sounds like a tractors!!!
But ?125 road tax, cheaper insurance, few tweaks, do go well and get 50 mpg.
No vis or manifolds, thermostats, dodgy clutch systems, etc, etc. 
Hope its a good one, just check the clutch doesn't slip when you floor it in 3 or 4, as Dan says, should rev up through the box as quick as you can change gear up to 3.
Make sure all the locks work on the key fob and the alarm seems OK, if its a MK2, make sure treads OK on the front tyres, inside edges. Belts should be done.

Well Its a lovely car! One of the best original cars iv saw.
All seemed good and genuine.
ATC rear Elec windows, good tyres, twin spoilers.
Only bad thing was and its a majour one, its the reason i never got the car. It was sold, on finance. Hes going to give me a call if it falls through.

Still - Finance falling through is a regular thing these days.
And ..... As I've got a full leather interior to go into mine - I may have an interior for you too .....
