to remove centre console (prerequisit for dash removal), there is two screws either side at the bottom of the drinks holder, undo em.

next you need to prise the cover off of the section under the handbrake, there are two bolts, you can then remove half the lower centre console. lift it over the handbrake.

you need to remove cd player, screw in the middle at the bottom of the area where the cd player was, then you need to take out hazard light and rear fog light switches, screws under there, prise the gear gater surround out then you can fully remove centre console.

this is the part i've done. according to haynes, the actual dash requires removal of the steering column, take out the drivers storage compartment (mines **** and doesnt close properly, won't miss that!) the glovebox, then remove bolt either side of dash (access by prising covers off) prise out the centre heater bit on the dash which reveals the last bolt, then take off the dash, job done!

by the sounds of it the mk2 dash bolts on in the same way, so should be a doddle. Might chav my speedo with a different colour light.... seeing as i'm gonna be swapping my speedo over i guess.

think the speedo unit is screwed into the dash, so when removing i will have to swap them over. unless i have that wrong and the two screws at the top of the speedo area can just be removeed and when the dash is removed the speedo stays in the same place..... any thoughts skyblue?
