My solution to camber, was to lengthen the lower arms by 40mm. This was done for a number of reasons, which included + camber, wider wheel base and to improvement movement in the driveshafts. The results are completely amazing, the car is highly predicatable, stable and there was a huge improvement in turning in.

I take it that was a fixed design? Trial and error to achieve the 40mm or just lucky and stayed with it?

As with any track car the more negative camber the better footprint you would get especially when cornering. Only offset is the tyre wear, a small sacrifice imo.

I used to spend hours on the track playing with set-ups when we were running the Audi GT racecar. Surprising what small changes will do. The last time I ran that car at Llandow it was on tarmac spec set-up, rock hard and low as hell! Those were the days!

The 40mm was calculated to solve the problems with the driveshafts. We found that increasing the lower arm does not make a huge difference on the driveshaft free play. So, as standard I think there is some room to play with. Getting the camber was right. I did buy some Civic adjustable lower arms, but the camber worked out spot on after our trials. So, I just returned them. I think we would be looking at about 20mm lengthening on a standard car, howeve we do have to do our maths.
