Tell them about the exhaust cause if you have an accident that's your fault it may well void your insurance.
I changed my exhaust but it only increased bhp by about 5bhp
so the insurance didn't go up.
All changes I do will always be declared to the insurance because after my accident (which wasn't my fault) it was impossible to get the bonnet open due to crushed bodywork. If the BMC hadn't been declared and the accident was proven to be my fault then I could be in a spot of bother. It's not worth the risk.
