Younger people may be more likely to have an accident 'on paper' but have you seen some of our elderly drivers? Some of them have tunnel vision and that is it. They have no idea of what is going on around them and dont have quick enough reactions (not all of them to be fair),but the amount of times i have been cut up or somebody has pulled out in front of me is a joke. I am not a particuarly fast driver but as a younger driver i am very aware of what is going around me so tend to keep back from drivers where you can see that you are about to be cut up. (usually older drivers! You never see that in the headlines do you? )

I didnt think NOs was legal on uk roads anyway. Think there should be a certain spec for any car installing it. In terms of brakes being upgraded to deal with the stopping power of the increased bhp. Just because the car is modified doesnt mean the person driving it is any more likely to crash then some crack head in a little ax! Dont think the modification has anything to do with it. The dangers stop at the frame of mind of who ever is behind the wheel.

modified cars don't cause accidents... it's the muppets that drive them that's the problem

Nitrous is legal to use on UK roads as long as your insurance covers it.

a standard car is as dangerous as a modified car imo. i personally think its a load of rubbish. i herd this on the radio and i agree with what one person said. its not the car, whether its modified or not , its the driver. an idiot would be an idiot whether hes in a modified/performance car or a slow car.

i very much agree with the fact that some cars are over modified and then become dangerous.

my 180 is no more dangerous even now its 190 bhp.

Agreed. I'm a teenage 1.8 ZS driver, been driving for 2 years, and have never crashed or got points. There are countless 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 corsa, saxo, 106 drivers that have driven for 6 months and written their own car and someone elses off in the process too. Knobs will be knobs, a 800cc cinquento will get to 70mph, so it can go 70mph through 30mph zones, no matter how small engined the car it can be lethal.

It's to a large extent the driver not the car, although a fast car doesn't help

in all honesty, young drivers that have 1.4 at most can't really modify it to get massive performance, how many chavs do you know that have NOS

the people with NOS, massive performance and a heavy right foot are people in their early-mid 20's.
