Take another make of car of a similar age for a drive, the eye opener for me was a Passat.
Don't just chuck it, chuck a list up and see if someone takes it.

I see from your pic that you have an Astra as well as a ZS.
How do you find the handling compares to the ZS?
I thought the 2005 Astra SRi I drove a few years ago handled much better than my ZS, but that was a long time ago.

I sold the ZS and got the astra. Tbh (and these guys will hate me for saying this) the zs felt like a brick compaird to the astra.

Bring your junk over and I'll stick it in the shed mate. Better it going to someone who wants it than skipping it.

But what exactly do you mean by that?
I had a Hire car Astra SRi diesel for two weeks a few years ago.
I hated the diesel engine and I'm not that taken by the looks but it handled brilliantly.

Ok its just a mk1 dash, glove box, steering wheel coweling, centre console and arm rest bit and i think there are some lights. If you want it and reckon you can get a few quid from it then go for it. When you about am i'm not back to work until monday so free until then.

I'll PM you. Harlow area is good for me as I'm in the area fairly regularly to do IT support house calls.
Are your cars fairly standard suspension wise?
It will be very interesting to test another ZS, especially one that is rated as good handling by it's owner.
I do suspect though that I've just owned it too long and got too used to it.
My MG service garage (Steve from British Legends in Southend) drove my ZS and didn't think there was anything wrong with it compared to his.
I do remember loving the handing of my old ITR DC2 but I sold that in 2003, three years before buying the ZS, with a boring car in between, so not a back to back test.

M17TT180: I'm still interested to hear how your Astra handling compares to the ZS.
