Dont be daft.... its good.... but VW made the best of the 70's80's and 90's Mk1 Golf Gti & Mk2 16v were much better that any pug.... although the 1.9 pug was better than the 8v golf, it doesn't come any where neer the 16v Mk2. I've owned them all.... lol

I really like that, i considered a 205 myself (the 1.9 GTi) but it was hard to find one that hadn't been wrapped around a tree at some point!! You gotta love 80's hot hatches. I had a nice white mk2 XR2 untill a couple of years ago. Loved that car so much and these 80's hot hatches are so cool to roll about in, even today. They're such head turners.

I'm only 23 myself but i agree with everyone else here. I know its your first car and all you want to do it start modifying it, and its hard not to, but i would save your money. The only reason we are saying it is because we wish we had too when we were your age. And i bet you will too if you spend out money 'GTi'ing' it. I'd keep it as standard as possible, and as clean as possible. When your ready to buy your ZS, that will sell for quite a lot more money that you paid for it if you advertise in the right places, being so clean.

No way, build quality maybe, but hardly the last word in excitement. Golfs are always the sensible choice, and surely hot hatches aren't about being sensible? 205s are much more nimble, chuckable, dangerous, much better! Renault 5 GT turbos even better. Looked so different, proper old, cheap looking tat with great power and turbo lag. Wicked fun. Just enough time when you put your foot time for people to go, doesn't seem quick, then, woosh. Let alone if you tuned them, bye bye gti!

Its when his feet start pushing through the mats, trying to hit the brakes.

All the best with the driving, sure you will do fine.
