its not illegal to have the incorrect mileage show on the gauges, however it is illegal to sell it as having less mileage than it actually does

Update, the seller has just added

It has been brought to my attention that there is a discrepancy in the mileage on the car, I will speak to the previous owner on monday and either clear this up or remove the item from ebay

Good one! It just makes me think if the seller is genuine or either he has no paperwork or is selling it for someone else? How can someone not see there is a discrepancy?
