With the wheels i was thinking that with only 1mm clearance the design wouldnt have to be much different to touch.

I was thinking about putting my BRM wheels on for track use. I guess they would have the same problems :-(

Doesn't the BRM have the larger brakes?

BRM has 262s but it was more the heat dissipation I was worried about. I set fire to my brakes on the last track day I did =-O
I was thinking about trying to get some slicks and wets as I have two sets of brm wheels, a set of straights and the compomotives that are on it.

Any one know where I could pick up some cheap part worn track tires?

ask about the local garages, as they have to pay to dispose of old tyres anyway and most of them will have enough tread for the track

I have a local place that sells part worns but I doubt he has slicks and wets.
How does the sizing work on slicks by the way?

Are ordinary worn down/bald tyres any good??

Or are they dangerous, with no grip???

slicks are a totally different compound to road tyres, so bald road tyres will just be dangerous lol

the sizing on slicks is a bit weird, I'm sure mine are 650 or something daft even though they are mounted on 17" rims. I think it has more to do with rolling distance. I'm sure someone on here will know
