I believe the mk2 rear exhaust sections are about 3" longer, so it would be hidden away...

The MK1 exhaust is shorter than the MK2 Dan as the MK2 has a longer bumper. It would fit but the tail pipes would be mostly hidden under the bumper and wouldn't stick out.

Surely you could get some part of it extended with a bit of pipe welded on in the middle or some sort of tail extension though ?

Looks a peach. Have you noticed any difference yet having now driven both a MK1 and a MK2?

Jim previously had a yellow mk2 180 and a mk1 180 before that so will have plenty to compare with!

Having had one of each, the mk1 feels better built than the mk2 but you can't beat the mk2 looks IMHO.
