door problem

Right i have a problem with my rear door, what's happened is i can't open the door from inside or out..the inside just pulls but won't open(think child lock is on) and the outside handle is lose ,think it was pulled to hard and broke inside...so if i can take off door card would i be able to open the door by pulling the rod for the outside door handle?...any help would be great all

If you remove the inner lever, it will allow you to pull the rod, does it feel like the inner lever is connected to anything, there is a little plastic clip that keeps the rod connected to the lever, if it breaks the rod comes unconnected.

Have noticed that when unlocking and locking the button doesn't move?...so would that be the actuator needing replacing?

I had similar on my daughters Rover 100 (same design).

The lock pin would not move, I managed to get the door card loose and slid a hand inside, however I couldn't budge anything so eventually I used a pair of pump pliers to pull up the pin which seemed to cure the problem.

And when pulling outside handle it doesn't seem to be connected properly?

That's going to be awkward, I'm not sure if the door card will come off with the door closed.
