What's under here?

What's under the small plastic square cutout bit on the middle of the dash?

I know my terminology is very technical lol

Thanks,

I love it when people call me at 3 AM. "Hey, you asleep?" "No, I'm skydiving."

On the mk1 there was a vent, the outlet is still on the heater box below but there is no way to control it.

On the mk2 with climate control there is a sensor to register sunlight shining on the dash.
On the mk2 without climate control it is a chance to install a small pop up sat nav or some extra gauges or anything you fancy.

Nice one, somebody's tried to open it before me and left a nice screwdriver looking gouge mark on it, I want to replace it but didn't want to pop it off in case I break something.

Thanks guys.
