I was tempted to spray mine up in a nice shiny black for free of course but decided against im waiting for a certain person to make up some carbon fibre ones

no. the cover doesnt get hot. there is a load of heat resistant material on the bottom cover. mine has been on for about 300 miles now and there is no damage from heat

The cover does get hot.

What laquer did you use mate?
Did the same to mine, but after 'bout a year the laquer disappeared.
Only have the paint now.

In summer I will re-do the cover and put heat-resistant laquer on.

yours is a k series so yes it does get hot. yours will as its sitting on metal but the kv6 doesnt get hot atall. you can thrash it for miles and when you touch it its still cold

I have painted my cover too, but just used normal car paint and normal laqure, drove about 50 miles, my cover does get a bit hot. hope the paint will be ok like as its not heat resistant
