Same here. I brought some BMW MINI Adaptors from ebay, had to remove some material in the middle to make the speakers fit... then had to file down the back of the adaptors to make them thinner... otherwise the door cards don't fit properly back onto the door!

I tried to take the door card off today.

it's flipping impossible. How the hell do you do it?!!?!

you need the trim removal tools otherwise you just end up breaking the clips that hold the card to the door.

you did take out the screws aswell didn't you

Yep, removed all the screws then tried to gingerly pull at the bottom as described on here....then tried a bit harder.

Then gave up before I borked it.

trim removal tools??? what do they look like and where can i get some as the last thing i want to do is damage my door card! has anybody else had probs getting the door card off?

remove all the screws like before (1 in the door pull,2 in the handle,1 in the door card)
But don't pull from the bottom,start at one side & work your way around.
Don't forget the inner door pull slides to one side before coming out.Also be careful not to break the clip that holds the inner door pull to the bar.
