The 4 door saloon is unique to MGR - Honda never had a 4 door Civic, the agreement was that Honda had the estate (Aerodeck) and MGR had the Saloon. That makes the ZS saloon a true MG ! Still doesn't detract from the fact that the Rover 400/45 is as dull as ditch water.

can i play this game?

i think the cityrover has to be the most boring car EVER!

when Andy used to work for rover, he brought one home for a day and he wasnt impressed at all, un-comfortable drive of a life time!

A true MG,now that is difficult to define. Honda didn't bother with a saloon version of their HH-H because the car was designed for continental Europe who favour hatchbacks, only the UK favour saloons hence Rover pressed ahead with it. Interiors remained the same in either variant and you could argue that the dark hue of the MGZS made it more bland and boring than the more colourful options of the 400/45. The MGZS is a beautiful looking car but you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear,the foundation has to be right, and thats the 400. Anyway its all in the eye of the beholder but a few tweeks cant turn dishwater into champagne.

No offence here but what have you been sniffing DOlly

The 400 is nothing at all like the ZS mate its like trying to compare water with fire saying theyre the same.

IIRC the zs suspension was designed by some designer from maclaren or some part of mclaren the 400 was designed by a jolly Brummy with a pair of slippers and a tweed hat on

The 400 can not be made to look good IMHO theyre is no kit that makes it look good unless you spend thousands converting it to a ZS

hmmm well would have to dissagree with the interior colours, yep the zs coul have done with a bit more pizazz, mainly in the mk1 but the colourful options in the 400 like....beige?!?!? Nope don't excite me in slightest, maybe it's the age i grew up in but i will always associate beige and boring as the same thing

The mk1's Interior IMO was dated but adequate and much better than the wood option from the 400.

I assocaite Beige with James May and he is a boring middle aged man
