Desperado Helpo

Hi,

Posted this in the engines sub forum as well, but didnt know where was best.

Ive just bought a newish power steering pump, fitted it and re bled the system, Checked the bearings on a couple of the pulleys and the belt is ok. However the car is still making a fog horn noise when the steering wheel is under pressure...

Has anyone else had this problem?Any suggestions from someone who has experiance?

Cheers,

Nutter

if you dont mind me asking how have you beld the system turning th steering lock to lock? how loud is the noise as you will get a bit of noise espiecially on full lock, possibly the steering rack itself? you really need someone to listen to under the bonnet while you do it so they can pinpoint it, a large screwdriver is always good as a stephoscope, but you may hear the noise transmitting through other components as well so be aware, if the pumps okay id be looking at the rack

Sorted now!! Turns out it was just a split hose, That was drawing air in. So ive just replaced the hose and bled the system by putting in the fluid running engine and going full lock left and right and so on and so forth!! So Happy Days!!
